Four Aggies Post Individual Victories at Weber State Twilight Meet

Four Utah State track athletes earned victories at Weber State's annual Twilight Track and Field meet here Wednesday evening. Among the winners were Lacey Hulbert (100-meter hurdles), Stacie Lifferth (1,500), Tara Pickett (high jump) and Todd Griffith (5,000).

 

Lifferth recorded a personal best in winning the 1,500 in a time of 4:39.66. Pickett cleared 5-06.75 to claim the high jump by two full inches over BYU's Kristin Hirst. Hulbert edged Utah's Jen Cutrer by .08 to win the 100 hurdles in a time of 14.36.

 

On the men's side Cameron Madsen recorded a personal best in the javelin with a toss of 151-08 to finish third in that event. Teammate Patrick Monday was second with a toss of 152.00.

 

Other runner-up finishes by the men included Derek Hastings with a time of 10:24.44 in the steeplechase and Palmer Hawkins with a pole vault mark of 14-03.50. Kristen Guymon was second in the women's 800 with a time of 2:13.71.

 

Utah State will now head to the WAC Championships in Honolulu, Hawai'i May 10-13
