Jon M. Huntsman School of Business Honors Rob Allen With 2026 Distinguished Executive Alumnus Award

Logan, Utah — The Jon M. Huntsman School of Business at Utah State University has recognized Rob Allen, president and chief executive officer of Intermountain Health, as the 2026 Distinguished Executive Alumnus at an award ceremony on Oct. 29.
The Distinguished Executive Alumnus Award is the highest honor the Huntsman School bestows upon graduates who exemplify the school’s core values and have demonstrated exceptional leadership and service throughout their careers.
“This award is the highest honor we bestow upon those who embody the school’s shared ideals and values and who have provided exceptional service to their community,” said Douglas D. Anderson, dean of the Jon M. Huntsman School of Business. “The strategic pillars of the Huntsman School are ethical leadership, global vision, entrepreneurial spirit and analytical rigor. Rob’s accomplishments and character truly exemplify these qualities.”
Rob Allen leads Intermountain Health, a nonprofit health system that serves communities across Colorado, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, Utah and Wyoming, employing more than 60,000 individuals. Over his more than 30 years in health care executive leadership, Allen has been recognized as one of the 100 most influential people in health care (2023, 2024) and one of the top 25 COOs in health care (2018). Under his leadership, Intermountain has been nationally recognized for simplifying health care, expanding preventive care initiatives and improving affordability and access for all.
Allen earned his MBA from Utah State University. He began his career at Evanston Regional Hospital, where he served as CFO and later CEO, before leading hospitals in New Jersey and Massachusetts. Since joining Intermountain Health in 2007, he has held multiple leadership roles, culminating in his appointment as president and CEO in 2022.
