Saving for the Unexpected
More than 43 percent of Americans have less than $1,000 saved, and USU Extension specialists recommend that before whittling away at excess debt, you need to first build an emergency fund. Emergency funds can pull you out of a bind whether you become ill, lose a job or have a major unexpected bill. To determine an amount, think about what you would need if an emergency arose.
