The Shingo Institute Welcomes The Lean Orange as a New Provider of Shingo Workshops
Shingo Licensed Affiliates are private companies that contract with the Shingo Institute to teach Shingo workshops to groups and individuals. The Lean Orange has recently contracted to become a Shingo Licensed Affiliate.
The Shingo Institute, a program of the Jon M. Huntsman School of Business at Utah State University, has announced a new collaboration with The Lean Orange. Now officially recognized as a Shingo Licensed Affiliate, The Lean Orange will teach the Shingo workshops to groups and individuals interested in improving their organization’s culture to improve efficiency, working conditions and value.
"We are very excited to have The Lean Orange as a new affiliate partner,” said Ken Snyder, executive director of the Shingo Institute. “It is an exceptional company devoted to principles of organizational excellence, and together we hope to help many other companies on their continuous improvement journeys.”
About The Lean Orange
Following a practical, people-first approach, The Lean Orange works with leaders and teams to foster clarity, capability, and confidence. The focus is always on creating systems that work for people, not around them, enabling flow and ownership at every level of the organization.
Founded in 2017 by Steve Nicoll — a Shingo Prize recipient, certified facilitator, and examiner who has helped multiple organizations achieve Shingo recognition — The Lean Orange guides leaders in turning intent into action and excellence into a way of life.
With over four decades of experience across manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, health care, engineering, aerospace and services industries, The Lean Orange brings a depth of knowledge and a belief that improvement should be both meaningful and human.
The Lean Orange continues to grow by living its principles — keeping things simple, speaking honestly and building lasting partnerships through the generous sharing of knowledge — and helping people learn, develop and succeed.
About the Shingo Institute
The Shingo Institute administers the Shingo Prize, an award recognizing organizations that demonstrate an exceptional culture of fostering continuous improvement. A program of the Jon M. Huntsman School of Business at Utah State University, the Shingo Institute is named after Japanese industrial engineer and Toyota adviser, Shigeo Shingo. Shingo distinguished himself as one of the world’s thought leaders in concepts, management systems, and improvement techniques known as the Toyota Production System.
Drawing from Shingo’s teachings and years of experience working with organizations worldwide, the Shingo Institute developed the Shingo Model, which is the basis for its educational offerings, including workshops, webinars, podcasts, study tours, and conferences. Workshops are available in multiple languages through the Institute’s licensed affiliates, including The Lean Orange.
