USU Distributes 2025 Annual Security and Fire Safety Report
Utah State University has released its 2025 Annual Security and Fire Safety Report, which outlines campus crime statistics, fire safety data, and university policies related to campus safety.
The report is published each year in accordance with Utah Code Section 53B-28-401, the Campus Safety Plan, and the federal Jeanne Clery Act. It is designed to provide students, faculty, staff, their families, alumni, and the public with important information about safety at USU.
“Our mission is to foster a safe and secure environment for every member of the Aggie community, including students, faculty, staff, and their families,” said Ellis Bruch, executive director of the USU Department of Public Safety. “Because USU is an open campus, our commitment also extends to visitors across all of our campuses.”
Campus safety at USU is carried out through three branches of Public Safety: the USU Police Department, Emergency Management, and the Fire Marshal’s Office. These units work together to ensure USU remains a safe place to learn, live, and work.
The 2025 report includes:
- Campus crime, arrest, and referral statistics provided by USU Police, Campus Security Authorities, and local law enforcement
- Fire safety data for residence halls
- University policies and procedures addressing alcohol and drug use, sexual assault, relationship violence, stalking, hazing, and other safety practices
“Campus safety is a shared responsibility,” Bruch said. “We encourage everyone in the USU community to review the report and share feedback, concerns, or suggestions as we continue to strengthen our efforts.”
The 2025 Annual Security and Fire Safety Report is available on the Department of Safety website.
