USU Eastern to Unveil New Exhibition: ART of the Prehistoric Museum
PRICE, Utah — The Prehistoric Museum at Utah State University Eastern has announced the newest exhibition opening in its Special Exhibits Gallery: “ART of the Prehistoric Museum — 65 Years of Handmade Interpretive Media and Objects.”
For this new exhibition, curators dug deep into collections to celebrate the long history of partnership the Prehistoric Museum has shared with the artists and artisans of eastern Utah.
From the first prehistoric paintings created by the Carbon Art League in the early 1960s to the enormous casts of mammoth bones made in Price and shipped to museums around the world, these objects and artworks have helped the museum tell its story for over 65 years.
The opening reception for “ART of the Prehistoric Museum” will take place from 5:30-7:30 p.m. April 17 in the Special Exhibits Gallery of The Prehistoric Museum. Located at 155 E. Main Street in Price, The Prehistoric Museum invites the public to explore this unique exhibition, on view through October 2026.
