USU Revamps, Relaunches Parent & Family Connection to Support Families at All Campuses Across State
Utah State University has relaunched its Parent & Family Connection — a personalized communications platform for families of both prospective and current students.
“The college journey is just as important for families as it is for students,” said Katie North, vice president for strategic enrollment management. “By expanding the Parent & Family Connection, we’re giving families across the state a personalized, direct line to the information and resources they need to support their student — no matter where they are in that journey.”
The online service, which began as a tool for families of students at Logan, Blanding, and USU Eastern in Price, will now serve families of both prospective and current students at every USU campus throughout the state.
One Connection, Statewide Support
The website offers resources to help families and students research colleges, prepare for their first year, or navigate the path to graduation. Families of students can create a free account on the new Parent & Family Connection and personalize the types of updates they receive, including:
- General USU news and updates.
- College transition tips and academic support resources.
- Scholarship and financial aid opportunities.
- Campus-specific announcements.
- In-state and out-of-state guidance.
They can also choose how often they receive updates — monthly, weekly or just a few times a year.
Tools for Families of Current Students
For families with current USU students, the Parent & Family Connection provides resources to stay engaged and support their student’s college success. Parents can find:
- Academic calendars and important deadlines.
- Advising and tutoring resources.
- Wellness and mental health support services.
- Housing updates and dining options.
- Campus life, clubs and student involvement opportunities.
Families are also kept in the loop about important and campus events, including campus preview days, local USU activities, orientation sessions, and scholarship and FAFSA deadlines.
Families can sign up for the Parent & Family Connection at usu.edu/parents.
