The Aggies were joined by Boise State (3.12 GPA) as the only two teams from the Western Athletic Conference to be honored and Utah State joins Brigham Young (3.36 GPA) and Utah (3.07 GPA) as the only teams from the state of Utah to receive the award.
Utah State finished its season with a 10-11 record, tying the most-ever wins in the program's 12-year history and USU also ended the season with its first-ever conference tournament victory as the Aggies beat San Jose State, 4-0, in the first-round of the WAC Tournament.
Utah State's 5-2-0 conference record ties the previous program-record mark of five wins set last season and the Aggies have now tallied 10 wins in the program three different seasons. USU also set records for most points in a season (114), most goals in a season (40) and most assists in a season (34) this year.
Individually, four USU players received all-WAC honors, as senior midfielder Abby Hunt and sophomore defender Lindsey Smart were named to the all-WAC first-team, while junior forward Candice Clark and freshman forward Lauren Hansen were tabbed to the second-team.
Clark and Hunt were also named to the WAC all-tournament team, as USU was the fourth-seed for the conference tournament, defeating the sixth-seed San Jose State before falling to the eventual conference champion Hawai'i in the semifinals.
