Utah State Leading the Nation in Three-Point Field Goal Percentage

LOGAN, Utah - Utah State's men's basketball team is leading the nation in three-point field goal percentage according to the latest NCAA statistics released on Tuesday [Feb. 14].
 
Utah State is shooting 43.2 percent from three-point range this year to lead the nation, while Ohio State is second at 42.8 percent. USU is also second in the nation in field goal percentage at 50.9 percent, and trailing Florida who is shooting 52.1 percent.
 
As a team, Utah State also ranks second in the nation in assists per game (18.5), 15th in fewest personal fouls committed per game (15.5), and 32nd in scoring margin (+9.5).
 
Individually, sophomore guard Jaycee Carroll (Evanston, Wyo.) ranks fourth in the nation in three-point field goal percentage at 48.6 percent, trailing Je'Kel Foster of Ohio State (52.9), Lee Humphrey of Florida (50.7), and J. Robert Merritt of Samford (49.4). Carroll also ranks 18th in the nation in three-point field goals made per game at 3.3.
 
Other Aggies to be ranked among the national leaders include senior forward Nate Harris (Smithfield, Utah), who is seventh in the nation in field goal percentage (62.3), and senior guard David Pak (Orange, Calif.), who ranks 45th in assists per game (5.0).
 
Utah State is 16-6 on the season and in third-place in the Western Athletic Conference with a 7-4 league records. USU returns to action this Wed., Feb. 15 when it plays at Idaho at 8:05 p.m. (MT).
