Utah State's Brady Jardine Receives Academic Honor from NABC

Utah State [University] men’s basketball player Brady Jardine was named to the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Honors Court it was announced Monday [July 11]. The Honors Court recognizes collegiate basketball student-athletes who have excelled in academics during the 2010-11 season.

Jardine, a 6-7, 220-pound senior forward from Twin Falls, Idaho (Twin Falls HS), was the only player from the Western Athletic Conference and the only player from the state of Utah to be honored by the NABC.

Along with receiving academic honors from the NABC, Jardine was also named to the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District VIII first-team in 2011, not to mention being a three-time academic all-WAC recipient.

Jardine, who has a cumulative 3.71 grade-point average in finance, averaged 7.5 points and 7.0 rebounds during his junior season, while shooting 54.1 percent from the field and 64.7 percent at the free throw line.  He finished the year ranking sixth in the WAC with 1.00 blocks per game.

The NABC Honors Court recognizes the talents and gifts that these men possess off the court, and the hard work they exhibit in the classroom. In order to be named to the Honors Court, an athlete must meet a high standard of academic criteria. The qualifications are as follows:

1.  Academically a junior or senior and a varsity player.
2.  Cumulative G.P.A of 3.2 or higher at the conclusion of the 2010-11 academic year.
3.  Students must have matriculated at least one year at their current institution.
4.  Member of an NCAA Division I, II, III or NAIA Institution.
