WAC Honors 59 Aggies for Academic Success

LOGAN, Utah - Utah State University landed 30 athletes from its spring sports and 29 freshmen and transfers from the 2005-06 season on the WAC Academic teams that were announced this week.

 

To be eligible for the spring academic team, a student athlete must have completed one academic year, have at least a 3.0 cumulative grade-point average and have participated in at least 50 percent of the team’s contests.

 

Leading the way for the Aggies were two athletes who have boasted perfect 4.0 grade-point averages. Senior Andrea Barker, a member of the USU tennis team, owns a perfect 4.0 while majoring in exercise science, while track standout Kristen Guymon is working on a master’s degree in health, PE, and parks and recreation and has not received less than an 'A' grade in the classroom.

 

This school year, 115 USU student-athletes were recognized by the league office for their academic achievement.
