Zach Fisher Promoted to Associate Athletic Media Relations Director

Zach Fisher, who has served as an assistant in the Athletic Media Relations Office at Utah State University for the past four years, has been promoted to associate athletic media relations director it was announced Tuesday [April 13, 2010].
 
In his current role at Utah State, Fisher serves as the media contact for Utah State's football and gymnastics teams, while overseeing the track and field programs. Fisher also coordinates USU's statistical crews for football and basketball, plays a vital role in maintaining the department's Web site and helps oversee the day-to-day operations of the Media Relations office.
 
Fisher came to Utah State after spending three years as the Athletic Media Relations Director at West Texas A&M. Prior to that, he worked as an assistant director at Pittsburg (Kan.) State for two years.
 
While at West Texas A&M, he received nine national awards from the College Sports Information Directors of America, including three "Best In The Nation" awards for his volleyball, men's soccer and women's soccer media guides in 2004. In the spring of 2006, Fisher successfully placed one of West Texas A&M's student-athletes in the Faces In The Crowd section of Sports Illustrated magazine.
 
Fisher was born in Billings, Mont., and graduated from Carroll (Mont.) College in 2001 with a degree in communication studies and public relations. He is married to assistant USU athletic media relations director Kara Fisher.
