Logan Campus Parking

USU Parking is eliminating “dash passes” for media with the transition to automated plate readers for parking enforcement on the Logan Campus. As part of this change, news outlets will be provided with a limited number of validation codes.

Members of the media interested in covering a story on campus may call ahead to receive a parking code for 3 hours of validated parking.

Media parking will be limited to the TSC Visitor lot. UMAC will provide a code, which must be used at a pay station kiosk in the TSC Lot.

Please contact ucom@usu.edu to receive a validation code.

  • Validation codes apply only to news coverage on campus, not to coverage of athletics events.
    • For reporters covering sporting events, please contact Athletics Media Relations at (435) 797-3714.
  • Please contact UMAC to make special arrangements for large media vehicles.
  • If your stay on campus exceeds the 3-hour limit, time can be manually added using a credit card.
  • Additional visitor parking is available for free after 5 p.m.

In the event that USU holds a press conference with a media staging area, parking on campus will be free in a lot determined by the University.

Request Public Records

The Government Records Access and Management Act (GRAMA), Utah Code section 63G-2-101 et seq., is Utah's open records law and the state equivalent of the federal Freedom of Information Act (FOIA). Through GRAMA, the public may request access to certain records maintained by the university.

GRAMA requests are coordinated through the Office of Legal Affairs.

Emergency Communications

USU sends important information about crimes on campus, threats to safety, and emergencies through Aggie Alerts. All alerts are sent through USU's campus alert system, which includes text to cell phones, and email. Those who are not members of the university community may sign up for text alerts.
