12th Grade GEAR UP students from Cottonwood and Hunter High Schools visited the Texas Instruments facility in Lehi on Friday, February 2nd. Texas Instruments is a 300-millimetter wafer fabrication plant in Utah’s Silicon Slopes.

Students participated in a presentation on careers at Texas Instruments. A manufacturing role at Texas Instruments offers employees opportunities to create high-tech products using advanced manufacturing processes. They offer competitive pay as well as opportunities to learn and grow in a career. Students were given an extensive tour of the facility, and treated to lunch sponsored by Texas Instruments. The students spent the afternoon engaged with a hands-on coding activity.

Granite students enjoyed the field trip, and were engaged with all aspects of learning more about high-tech manufacturing careers. They were especially impressed with the Texas Instrument Fabrication Plant in Lehi.
