College Bus Tour Takes Students on an Academic Adventure

By MK Jones | December 22, 2023

Learning about the culture and facilities of a school can greatly help prospective students decide where to enroll. It can be a challenge, however, to learn everything that is needed about universities without visiting them directly. GEAR UP College Bus Tours give these prospective students the opportunity to visit many universities across Utah, and to see what truly makes them unique.

This tour helps students who need a change of academic enviornment, and shows off the cultures of Utah's schools.

From December 18th to December 20th, GEAR UP students took a bus tour to various universities across the state of Utah. As it can be difficult to visit so many schools when making an academic decision, the bus tour provides the opportunity for these students to see firsthand what different Utah universities are really like. On the 18th, students met together with GEAR UP staff for their first tour, guided by college tour guides across different campuses.

Across the three days, the tour visited the following universities: Snow College, Salt Lake Communtiy College, Weber State University, Utah State University, Utah Valley University, University of Utah, Brigham Young University, Southern Utah University, and Utah Tech University.

The students and staff expressed enjoyment over the event and the resources that they'd gained. The event was also a great opportunity for the students to bond over shared experiences, and to share knowledge about college opportunities. The bus tour ultimately was an incredible opportunity for these students, both to learn about colleges, and which colleges would fit them best.
