College Application Week at Manti High School
The college application experience can be intimidating, especially for high school students that are juggling their own academic responsibilities at the same time. In order to help their students, Manti High School had their "College Application Week", with various events and visitors making up the schedule. Because of this event, students were provided with useful resources and information to assist their futures.
Students attended rallies and events during the week that taught them about their college options.
In addition to receiving application information, students also participated in college resource activities.
MHS enjoyed Utah College Application Week October 25th-27th. We had representatives from Utah Tech, SUU, Snow, BYU and USU help seniors fill out college applications and answer questions in the library. We also had representatives from the Marines and Army talk with students and they even had a pull up bar for students. This was a big hit! Gear Up and college ambassadors had games every day at lunch in the commons. A student favorite was the annual college cupcake walk and musical chairs. We also had Snow College cheerleaders greet seniors as they entered a college week pep assembly.
From October 25th to the 27th, Manti High School (MHS) and its students enjoyed Utah College Application Week. During this event, representatives from various universities (Utah Tech University, Southern Utah University, Brigham Young University, and Utah State University) visited in order to help the high school seniors in their college application processes. The representatives also answered questions that the seniors had, in order to make the process as painless as possible.
In addition to university visitors, representatives from both the Marines and the Army were in attendance as well. Both branches provided the students with information regarding the benefits of joining, along with the opportunity to show off their strength on a pull up bar. Many students commented that this had been one of their favorite parts of the event.
Each day during lunch, GEAR UP advisors and college ambassadors hosted games in the commons, such as the annual "college cupcake walk", and competitive rounds of "musical chairs". During the College Application Week pep assembly, Snow College cheerleaders greeted seniors in order to hype them up for the event. Overall, students had a lot of fun, and appreciated the resources that the week provided them.
