Utah State University STARS! GEAR UP offers numerous programs and activities during the school year to enhance learning and college readiness. In addition to our popular summer camps, we have now added two spring break college bus tours to our 2020 line-up.
College bus tours will visit seven campuses in Utah, Nevada, and California over spring break
Game Changer camp combines leadership and team building skills with problem-solving activities
Biology in Life camp explores a wide variety of careers and majors all connected to biology
GEAR UP College Bus Tours offer students a unique opportunity to explore and gain a better understanding of what college fit means for them. Tours take place over spring break and are open to students in 11th grade at participating schools Travel, lodging, and meals are all included in this immersive experience visiting seven colleges and universities in Utah, Nevada, and California over five days.
College Bus Tour Week 1
- Tour Dates: Mar 23 - 27
- For students in 11th grade
- Application deadline: Feb 29
College Bus Tour Week 2
- Tour Dates: Mar 30 - Apr 3
- For students in 11th grade
- Application deadline: Feb 29
In addition to the College Bus Tours, the USU GEAR UP program will host four camps on USU’s Logan campus this summer. Camps offer students the chance to live on campus, take fun grade-specific classes, discover and develop skills, and meet other students from across the state. This year’s selections include:
Engineering Camp
- Camp Dates: Jun 22 - 26
- For students entering 10th grade
- Application deadline: Apr 11
Game Changer Camp
- Camp Dates: Jun 22 - 26
- For students entering 8th, 9th, or 10th grade
- Application deadline: Apr 11
Transition Camp
- Camp Dates: Jul 8 - 10
- For students entering 9th grade
- Application deadline: May 2
Biology in Life Camp
- Camp Dates: Jul 28 - 30
- For students entering 9th or 10th grade
- Application deadline: May 15
While at camp, students will participate in interactive sessions to develop skills for a successful future. Leadership, teamwork, organization, and career exploration activities are just the beginning. Get the opportunity to work, play, and live on campus. And, best of all, these camps are FREE. All meals, lodging, and activities are provided by the USU STARS! GEAR UP program.
Each camp is designed specifically for USU STARS! GEAR UP by our partners, including USU’s Colleges of Engineering and Science, and FOCUS training, to inspire learning, explore new ideas, and help students do better in school.
