Description Akaline phosphatase (ALP) is an enzyme that can be induced by endogenous or exogenous corticosteroids in dogs. A standard biochemistry panel measures total ALP. This test specifically measures corticosteroid-induced ALP so that the effect of stress or corticosteroid administration on the total ALP concentration patient can be determined in canine patients.
Sampling Requirements Samples must be free of significant hemolysis, lipemia or icterus.
