Please follow state guidelines on sample collection and submission. Samples must be received by laboratory within 144 hours (6 days) of collection. Shipping samples as soon as possible after collection is highly recommended. Prefilled PBS tubes can be purchased from the UVDL (please call for more information). Collect samples and inoculate into a tube containing 3 ml of PBS or sterile saline (please do not use tubes larger than 10 ml, and ensure they are leak-proof). Submission forms must be filled out completely with veterinarian's name/clinic, owner name and
phone number, physical location of animals, and Official ID and Trich tag
numbers for all bulls.Legibly label tubes with bull Trich tag ID and official ID (e.g. 840 or 84 tag). Large accessions (>10 specimens) may result in an increased turnaround time. |
