Special Instructions  Fasting recommended. No gel separator. Allow whole blood to clot at least 30 minutes before separating. Separate serum/plasma if delivery to lab will exceed 24 hours. Refrigerate after collection.
Description  Automated measurement of cortisol in serum by chemiluminescence before and after administration of dexamethasone. Samples may be drawn in low-dose dexamethasone suppression testing to screen for hyperadrenocorticism (Cushing's disease) in dogs and cats. Additionally, samples may be drawn in high-dose dexamethasone suppression test to help differentiate functional adrenal neoplasia from pituitary-dependent hyperadrenocorticism in dogs.
Sampling Requirements  0.5 mL serum per sample
Packing Instructions Label all samples with unique identifiers. Do not ship whole blood. Separate serum before shipping. Ship overnight on cold pack.
