Sevier County

Sevier County is unique due to the range of outdoor recreational activities and being home to one of the oldest towns in Utah. With the county population at 22,520 and steadily increasing, the county is a little bit sweet with the Big Rock Candy Mountain, and a little bit salty with Redmond Minerals producing Real Salt. Add to that the mines, ATV trails, and beautiful lakes, and the county has everything you need for a big adventure. Because grassroots engagement is key to making long-term societal change in the initiative A Bolder Way Forward (BWF), the Sevier County Leaders amplify research-based efforts and bring the BWF message to every city, town, business, neighborhood, and family.  The County Coalition is part of the BWF Six County Regional Coalition including Juab, Millard, Piute, Sanpete, Sevier, and Wayne Counties. Since the “whole is greater than the sum of the parts,” we look at individuals and organizations currently doing the work in each area of focus (spoke) and elevate existing efforts. By lifting women and girls, we lift all residents.

When we understand the data, in addition to listening and responding to concerns regarding the needs of girls and women in Sevier County, we will be better able to change harmful or ineffective policies and programs, continue effective action, support effective leaders, identify and solve local problems, and create responsive initiatives for Utah families.
