Weber County

Weber County is unique due to its mix of open space, fresh air, and rural communities connected to a major metro area with recreation, arts, and a nationally recognized university. The fourth most populous county in Utah with over 280,000 residents, there are activities of every kind for residents and visitors alike with miles of trails, multiple mountain resorts, lakes and rivers, the Hill Aerospace Museum, Ogden Pioneer Days Rodeos, and Ogden Raptors baseball team. Because grassroots engagement is key to making long-term societal change in the initiative A Bolder Way Forward (BWF), the Weber County Leaders amplify research-based efforts and bring the BWF message to every city, town, business, neighborhood, and family.  Since the “whole is greater than the sum of the parts,” we look at individuals and organizations currently doing the work in each area of focus (spoke) and elevate existing efforts. By lifting women and girls, we lift all residents.

When we understand the data, in addition to listening and responding to concerns regarding the needs of girls and women in Weber County, we will be better able to change harmful or ineffective policies and programs, continue effective action, support effective leaders, identify and solve local problems, and create responsive initiatives for Utah families.
