May 2019 Newsletter

Colleagues,

The Utah Women & Leadership Project (UWLP) has a number of announcements for May:

First, if your organization (e.g., company, nonprofit, government entity, college) has a formal or informal women’s group and/or network, please reply to this email and let me know. We are compiling a list as we’ll be offering some research-based training for network/group leaders in the future. We are also continuing to compile our list of women experts in the state at this link.

Second, we are pleased to announce the release of a number of resources:

Third, here are some of our partners’ events (others can be found here):

Fourth, People Helping People is now offering their long-term employment program ONLINE. All clients need to participate is access to a computer and internet. Contact Marilyn Sanders at (801) 355-0406 or visit the PHP Online website for more information.

Fifth, CourtWatch has ongoing needs for volunteers (form here) to observe and collect data on court proceedings dealing with domestic violence, sexual assault, and child abuse with the aim to increase awareness around the issues and transparency of the court system in Utah. No previous court experience necessary; training is provided. This effort is aligned with the Utah Coalition Against Sexual Assault (see our related podcasts and snapshots; you’ll be shocked at where Utah stands on these issues).

Finally, check out our April editorials:

Enjoy May!
