Good morning! I have a number of Utah Women & Leadership Project (UWLP) announcements for May:

First, we are pleased to announce the release of a new research snapshot today titled “Women and Finances − What Utahns Need to Know: A 2025 Update” (with co-author Dr. Robyn C. Blackburn). Additionally, a few weeks ago we released a new white paper titled “Utah Women, Discrimination, and Sexism: Experiences and Perceptions,” which focuses on sharing the qualitative results of our fall survey.

Second, we are excited to announce that registration for the 3rd Annual A Bolder Way Forward (BWF) Summit is open! The event will be held on June 6, 2025, from 8:30am-3:00pm at Zions Bancorporation Technology Campus. Join us for this important annual gathering of people committed to engaging in making Utah a place where more girls, women, and families can thrive! Third, we have a few resources to highlight this month:

• UWLP Podcast Episodes (with Utah Public Radio): Understanding Entrepreneurship in Utah, Understanding Workforce Development in Utah, and Understanding STEM Fields in Utah
• Programs for Girls/Young Women: We wanted to make you aware of our page that lists programs specifically for girls and young women (K-12). This list includes camps for girls during the summer.
• Resource Kits: Learn more about 18 key areas of focus related to ensuring that more Utah girls, women, and families thrive.
• Community Calendar: View our community calendar for all events in Utah for girls and women.

Fourth, May is “Sexual Harassment Awareness Month.” To learn more about Utah efforts in this area, visit the Sexual Harassment & Gender-Based Discrimination Spoke webpage. Also, May 9th is National Childcare Provider Day, which is an important celebration in Utah too. We need more quality childcare providers in all counties around the state. Learn more about related goals and metrics.
