Colleagues, Good morning! I have a number of Utah Women & Leadership Project (UWLP) announcements for September: First, I am pleased to announce the release of a new research and policy brief today titled “Utah Gender Pay Gap: A 2025 Update” (with co-authors Dr. Robyn Blackburn and Kolene Anderson). This will provide more depth on the gap than most people know, so I hope you are able to read it. Second, we have a few resources to highlight this month:
Third, we are finishing up our third and last cohort for the Utah-based 100 Companies Championing Women campaign with the Governor’s Office of Economic Opportunity. We’ve appreciated our partnership and will be concluding our 2025 cohort in the next month. We are down to 20 spots and encourage you to nominate your organization (e.g., business, nonprofit, educational institution, local government entity). This campaign highlights workplaces that offer family-friendly policies and practices, as well as women-specific initiatives proven to impact the recruiting, hiring, retaining, and advancing of women employees, managers, and leaders. In addition, this helps us with our research. Apply here. Fourth, in A Bolder Way Forward, we are highlighting “Personal Finance Month” and “National Voter Registration Month” in September. To learn more about Utah efforts in finance, visit the Finance Spoke webpage. The Political & Civic Representation Spoke is also working hard in various areas. Learn more about related goals and metrics. Finally, check out some key articles and media published this past month:
Join us on the UWLP social media platforms: LinkedIn, Facebook, X (formerly Twitter), Instagram, and YouTube. Email uwlp@usu.edu to let us know you want to receive these updates to your own inbox if you received a forwarded email. Enjoy September! Susan Prof./Dr. Susan R. Madsen |
