Founded in 1978, the Youth Conservatory (YC) has been a teaching lab for hundreds of aspiring piano teachers, while helping children foster a lifelong love of piano in a learning environment filled with enthusiasm and enjoyment. The YC occupies a central role among Cache Valley's cultural programs for young people. Each week, over 100 young pianists, ages 2-18, of varying abilities and backgrounds, come to the Chase Fine Arts Center for private piano and group musicianship classes with the USU piano majors. Our unique program offers 30-minutes of private instruction per week and a monthly group musicianship class, with affordable tuition rates starting at $38 a month.
USU became an All-Steinway school in 2012, offering students the ability to perform on on the highest quality pianos in the practice rooms and performing venues. Group classes are often held in the Keyboard Lab where students enjoy the benefits of practicing improvisation and ensemble playing. Annual events like the YC Christmas Recital and the Monster Concert are held in the 1,700-seat newly remodeled Daines Concert Hall and the award winning 400-seat Russell/Wanlass Performance Hall.
We invite you to take a moment to learn more about our program and see how the Youth Conservatory could benefit you and your family.
