USU PianoFest

This educational and competitive event offers piano students the opportunity to set repertoire goals, receive constructive performance feedback, and compete for prizes and awards.

PianoFest takes place in the Chase Fine Arts Center on the Utah State University campus, and is open to students of all ages and skill levels. Participants may register for one or more categories, with divisions organized by age. Each performer receives adjudicated feedback on their prepared repertoire. This is an open competition, and the public is welcome to attend performances.

An Awards Ceremony will be held at 1 pm in the Daines Concert Hall where 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners are recognized, and 1st place winners will perform. The registration deadline is March 1. Applicants will receive their room and time assignments one week before the event.

Division Registration Fee Information
Baroque $15 Solo piece composed between 1600-1750
Classical $15 Solo piece composed between 1750-1830
Romantic/Impressionistic $15 Solo piece composed between 1830-1920
Contemporary Classical $15 Solo piece composed between 1920-present
Contemporary Non-classical $15 Arrangement or original work by composers such as Vandall, Bober, Schmidt, Alexander, etc.
