Biography

Hana Johnson has been playing the piano since the age of 8, though she has loved music her whole life. She completed the first seven levels of the AIM program, and learned to play the viola in junior high. Throughout her teenage and college years, she had many opportunities to accompany choirs, soloists, and groups on the piano and had the opportunity to play with the Utah Symphony her senior year of high school. She has also recently begun teaching piano privately, and enjoys working with students with various skill sets and musical backgrounds.

As a teacher, Hana believes that every student can excel. Her goal is to help students find their love for music by creating an environment where students feel safe to stretch and grow. She believes that music is an art, and a skill that students can take into their everyday lives. Her love of music and working with people led her to pursue a degree in Human Development and Family Studies, with a minor in Piano Pedagogy. She is currently pursing these degrees at Utah State University.
