I found my passion for music when I started piano lessons at the age of 8. As a teacher and musician, I believe there is music in everyone, it helps us express ourselves and share our feelings, it is a beautiful way to connect with others and the world around us. This I why I believe everyone should enjoy the privilege of making music. Along with musical knowledge and capabilities, the number one thing I strive to teach my students is to appreciate the process of learning and perfecting this art and feel the joy that making music brings to themselves and others.
Something I love about teaching is being able to work with lots of different people, I see each student as a unique individual, and understand that everyone learns and works differently. My goal as a teacher is to meet my students where they are and work together as a team to help them go further. I believe each student deserves to be treated with respect and be given the specific resources and opportunities they need to succeed. The second most important thing I strive to teach my students is to work hard and be persistent. Learning and perfecting a piece takes a lot of hard work and is not always fun. However, when a student chooses to stick to the process and work hard, little by little they can see their work pay off, and this process becomes addicting. These basic skills of hard work, attention to detail, persistence, and dedication are not only applicable to piano and will be useful for the rest of their lives.
