Aggie Blue Bikes Organizes Bike Race and Food Drive, Cranksgiving

Aggie Blue Bikes at Utah State University will be organizing Cache Valleys first “Cranksgiving”, a free event, Saturday, Nov. 17, at 10 a.m., at Aggie Blue Bikes on the USU campus. Cyclists will race to different grocery stores and buy items that will be used in a Thanksgiving dinner. All the groceries will then be collected and donated to the Cache Valley Food Bank. 

“I love seeing people on bikes and when they can do that to help people have a Thanksgiving feast it seems like a win, win,” said Zack Gregory, Aggie Blue Bikes Shop manager. 

Cranksgiving events have been happening around the USA for twenty years but this will be the first time Cache Valley will have an event like it. 
 
“Not a lot of bike races can happen in November but when you have a great cause you’ll have a great turnout and be able to help feed Cache Valley,” said Carter Moore, Aggie Blue Bikes mechanic. 

Meg McCarthy, Program Coordinator of Aggie Blue Bikes said she is hopeful turnout will be high. 

“You can win lots of awesome prizes, get some exercise and positively impact your community so why wouldn’t you want to come?” McCarthy said.

Aggie Blue Bikes participates is a service oriented program at USU located between the Fieldhouse and Military Science buildings on the Logan campus.
