Save the Date: USU College of Ag Calls for Chili Cook-off Competitors

Utah State University’s College of Agriculture will host its sixth annual Chili Cook-Off Jan. 26 at 5 p.m. in the Junction on USU’s Logan campus.

The College of Agriculture has held the event for the past six years with the objective of providing a fun, inexpensive and family-friendly event for the community. This year the Chili Cook-Off plans to continue the tradition and will feature the music of local band, Sagawich Basin Boys, in addition to the samples of homemade chili.

Cost for this year’s event is $3 per person at the door, and all proceeds will be donated to the Cache Valley Community Food Pantry. Those attending the cook-off are asked to bring a muffin tin for convenience to hold the cups of chili.

Prizes will be awarded for first, second and third place. New this year, each department from the College of Agriculture will have the opportunity to win a traveling trophy presented to the best chili from a College of Agriculture department.

To participate in the competition, applicants are asked to contact Lisa Allen, academic advisor for the College of Agriculture, at 435-797-0454. There is a $5 fee to participate in the competition.
