    USU track: Chari Hawkins sits in third place in heptathlon at WUG

    Former Utah State track and field All-American Chari Hawkins is currently in third place in the heptathlon with 3,447 points as she is representing the United States at the World University Games (WUG) in Gwangju, South Korea. ... The first four events of the heptathlon took place Friday, July 10. Hawkins, the Aggies’ most decorated female student-athlete of all-time, wraps up competition in the WUG on Saturday. ... Utah State senior Cole Lambourne is also competing for the U.S. at the WUG. The native of Riverton, Utah, advanced to the semifinals of the 400m by placing second in his heat with a time of 47.90 seconds on Wednesday. Despite running a faster time in the semifinals of the event (46.58), Lambourne did not reach the finals.
