Registration Now Open For the 2017 Broader Impacts Forum

Utah State University’s iUTAH project is excited to announce that registration is now open for “Reflecting and Expanding on Our Broader Impact.”

The forum, which will examine concepts of engaged scholarship and National Science Foundation’s Broader Impacts criterion, will be held on Friday, March 31, 2017, 8:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m., at the University of Utah, College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences Education Buildings, in Salt Lake City, UT.

The morning will include a series of keynotes and panel discussion from nationally renowned speakers and local practitioners. Afternoon workshops will be led by many of the morning speakers, and will offer targeted advice, in small group sessions, to help attendees advance their own scientific enterprise and make it more productive and rewarding.

Participation is open to faculty, students, and other research and education practitioners from universities and colleges across the state. It will be especially helpful to those individuals looking to add strong broader impacts components into their research proposals by exploring potential partnerships with colleagues from the academic, government, industry, and non-profit sectors to advance societally relevant science for the citizens of Utah.

This event is co-sponsored by the iUTAH project and the Office of the Vice President for Research at the University of Utah The iUTAH water project has built a research, education, and training cooperative that has engaged over 500 participants from all 10 institutions of higher education in the state and over 80 partner organizations in Utah and beyond.

Registration is quick, easy and free of charge for all participants. Interested participants are asked to register by March 3, as space is limited for the afternoon workshops.
