Spiritual Wellness Presentation
11 a.m. – 12 p.m. | Zoom
At its core, spiritual well-being is about feeling “connected” with something bigger or outside of ourselves that gives our lives a sense of meaning, purpose, and peace. While it’s not necessarily about religion (although for many, it is), this sense of “wholeness” goes hand in hand with feeling heard or seen. But feeling deeply appreciated for all of who you are can be hard when religious differences get in the way! In this mini-workshop, we will explore how to bust the religious divides on campus while cultivating skills for enhancing spiritual well-being. We’ll do this through a fun activity that will help you make new friends while learning to bridge religious difference in meaningful ways.
Learn to Lift
12 p.m. – 1 p.m. | Zoom
Whether your goal is to build muscle mass or achieve a toned body, lifting weights can help you get there! Weight training builds stronger muscles, strengthens your bones and joints, and can boost your metabolism and immune system. And these benefits create lifelong results. Weight training as we age can help fight the loss of muscle mass, mobility, and bone density as well as improve psychological well-being. Learn to Lift is an introductory course and will cover the basics of proper lifting form with only a broomstick. We will also cover universal motor patterns as well as proper bracing techniques. If you can’t make this class, we’ll offer it on Thursday, as well!
Wednesday, January 26
Yoga

Self-Care Workshop
12 – 1 p.m. | Zoom
Self-care plays an important role in maintaining our well-being. However, it is often overlooked in times of stress and crisis. Sometimes we are so busy taking care of everything and everyone that we fail to notice how we are doing. In this presentation, we will take some time to breathe, check-in with ourselves, and build a self-care toolkit.

Laughter Seminar
12 – 1 p.m. | Zoom & ECC 205/207
Did you know that stress can impact your ability to organize, focus, and remember? Laughter is a natural stress management tool we can all use to increase our productivity and performance. Laughing is one of the best ways to exercise your body and your mind. Even 30 minutes of laughter has been shown to increase aerobic capacity, lower heart rate, lower blood pressure, and increase positive emotions. Stress releases hormones (adrenaline & cortisol) that exacerbate conditions like depression and anxiety; laughter releases hormones (dopamine & serotonin) that support mental health and well-being. Come laugh and destress.
