You need to order a microSIM from AT&T. Not the nano size
Next, you need to configure the device with a static IP. Here is how to do that:
Plug the device into a laptop. Somehow the settings I needed to change were greyed out on my desktop and I couldn't do anything. I plugged it into my Mac laptop and it worked fine.
When you plug it in, the laptop will think it is a CD with an executable on it. select to run the .exe file or otherwise install the software. This software is what you need to make changes to the device.
Once the software is installed and it shows you have a connection to the device, follow the these instructions.
Except that you need to make the APN and its user name and password in accordance with what you find on this page
After you've done that, you need to do the following:
Log into your account at "www.accessmylan.com" (seth.lyman@usu.edu, B1) and click on Users > click on user you want > Static Addressing. You will then see the private static IP address from there.
