CIDI Workshop - Improve the Canvas Student Experience

Learn quick and easy practical tips to make sure your content more usable and easy to learn for the students in your course. In this workshop we will go over how to:
· Get rid of extra content in your course and simplify your course navigation.
· Get rid of broken links and make sure your content is published.
· Embed and caption your videos to make them more usable for everyone.
· Provide content in user-friendly formats that work well on mobile devices.
Blueprint Courses

Canvas allows a teacher to create a "blueprint" course, where updates can be made just once and then synced to several associated courses. This can greatly ease the management of multiple versions of the same class. This workshops shows how to use and effectively manage blueprint courses.

This workshop will cover the changes to the grade passback from Canvas to Banner. You will also learn how to ensure grades are calculating correctly and learn how to make manual overrides, if necessary.

This workshop covers: Signing In, Profile Settings, Notification Settings, Canvas Inbox, Creating Pages, Assignments and Announcements, Adding Calendar Items, and Adding Student Groups.
Topics are subject to change based on experience of attendees and what is needed.
CIDI Workshop - Creating Inclusive, Accessible Documents

Creating accessible content is more important than ever before and there are easy things that you can do as you create your content to make sure they are inclusive for all students in your classroom, including students with disabilities. In this workshop we will go over:
- Accessibility basics and helpful tools in Canvas.
- Creating accessible Word, PowerPoint and PDF documents.
- Resources available to help do some accessibility work for you.
Importing and Updating Your Course For the New Semester

This workshop addresses how to copy content from one semester's course to another, update due dates and settings, check for problems, and make additional enhancements.
