In the summer of 2019, CAS trainee Sarah Bogen interned with the Utah DNR and Wildlife Migration Initiative under the mentorship of Daniel Olsen. As an intern, Sarah: 1) located and documented GIS covarite datasets for use with the Wildlife Tracker database and web application; and 2) performed comparative survival and cost analysis for pelican tracking collar technologies in collaboration with fellow CAS trainee, Morgan Christman.

Sarah brought skills in statistics, R, and Bash scripting, mathematical modeling, and programming, and gained a skillset in GIS (ArcMAp), spatial thinking, and wildlife management.

In the summer of 2020, Sarah will work with the GIS team to incorporate covariates into the Wildlife Tracker database.
