In the summers of 2018 & 2019, CAS trainee Lainie Brice interned with the NPS under the mentorship of Dr. Andrew Ray. As an intern, Lainie: 1) surveyed amphibians in Yellowstone National Park as part of long-term monitoring efforts; and 2) collaborated on a project investigating how climate warming will affect wetland surface area and persistence across northern Yellowstone.
The research team results highlight areas where warmer future temperatures are likely to threaten amphibians through the drying of critical habitat.
Lainie gained a skillset in techniques for surveying amphibians, and processing and analyzing large datasets in R.
