Josh Carrell's CAS Internship with the Rocky Mountain Research Station

Over summer 2021, CAS trainee Josh Carrell interned with the Rocky Mountain Research Station under the mentorship of Barbara Bentz, a research entomologist. 

While interning Josh located previously recorded tree species and updated characteristic information in the Caribou-Targhee National Forest, identified insect induced tree mortality, and organized/manipulated PRISM climate data in R.

Josh gained skills and experience in forest inventory, forest insect identification, and forest plant identification.
