Emily Chavez's CAS Internship with USGS Southwest Biological Research Station

CAS trainee Emily Chavez interned with USGS Southwest Biological Research Station under the mentorship of Dr. Sasha Reed, one of CAS faculty. 

Emily conducted a microcosm experiment during her internship to see how Canyonlands National Park's historical grazing had affected the soil nutrients, texture, and cryptobiotic community. 

During her internship, Emily gained skills in developing protocal, experimental design, and laboratory skills.
