Join us for the 6th Annual USU Juneteenth Community BBQ! Juneteenth commemorates the emancipation of enslaved people in the United States, and Utah State University honors this commemoration through a longstanding tradition of coming together as a community to connect, reflect, and celebrate.
Explore the history of Juneteenth, community celebrations centered around this day, and efforts to establish Juneteenth as a holiday in Utah. There will be family-friendly activities and a free catered meal available on a first come, first served basis. Everyone is welcome.

Pioneer Day, celebrated on July 24, is a state holiday commemorating the 1847 arrival of settlers of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to the Salt Lake Valley. The holiday is a celebration of perseverance and community. The program will engage visitors from the Cache Valley Community with creative, culturally informed activities tied to the history and legacy of Pioneer Day.

Day of the Dead Procession

This event offers an opportunity for campus and community members to learn more about cultural celebrations and engage in traditions centered around Día de los Muertos. This includes participating in a procession allowing for communal remembrance while symbolizing interaction between the living and the dead.
Native American Heritage Month

Native American Heritage Day is a campus-wide event dedicated to honoring and celebrating the histories, cultures, and contributions of Native Nations. Hosted by Utah State University’s Center for Community, the event features educational displays, guest speakers, and cultural presentations that highlight Indigenous leadership, community values, and traditions.
Miss Native American USU

The Miss Native American USU Pageant is a formal cultural and educational event that honors the leadership, identity, and traditions of Native American women at Utah State University. Utah State University’s Black History Month celebration offers an engaging and educational experience highlighting the contributions of African Americans to music, cuisine, and culture. Soul Food is the continuation of long-standing traditions initiated by USU’s Black Student Union to honor the rich traditions of African American cuisine and culture, dating back to at least 1971.
