About This Certificate

Employers in a variety of professions and industries expect recent graduates to enter the workforce equipped with strong analytical AI skills.

This 9-credit AI and Writing Certificate prepares students from all majors and professions to critically analyze, evaluate, and apply a variety of AI tools and perspectives to their professional and community contexts. Courses for this certificate are regularly updated so that students are introduced to current perspectives and research on AI.

What You Will Learn

Through earning this certificate, you will learn to apply AI tools effectively and responsibly to enhance writing and problem-solving; investigate key concepts in AI, including how AI works, its history, and its limitations; evaluate and research AI outputs to verify accuracy and bias; evaluate ethical and environmental impacts of AI; prioritize your own thinking and learning when working with AI; take responsibility for final products developed with AI assistance; and apply your learning to future professional and community contexts.

This certificate also provides you with opportunities to enhance your durable and transferable skills of written and oral communication, teamwork, critical thinking, and problem solving.
