About This Certificate
Individuals with targeted training in food safety will be in demand in multiple industries to respond to current and emerging food safety challenges.
The certificate in Food Manufacturing will provide students with the background needed to appreciate the importance of food safety, and a basis to understand why certain food safety practices must be followed.
What You Will Learn
Coursework includes an introduction to Food Science and experience with food production (via the Chocolate Science course). Students will also receive training in food safety (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points), and will obtain Food Protection Manager Certification through ServSafe as part of the required coursework. Credits from this one-semester certificate can be applied directly towards the requirements for the certificate in Food Processing and/or the BS in Food Science.
