Overview

Due to a broken fan bearing in one of the supply fans within the building, there is currently no cooling within the BNR building. Please see below for a list of areas affected. Repair parts are being ordered, but the time it will take for them to ship is estimated to be 1-2 weeks, if not longer. Consequently, there will be no cooling in this area of the building during this time. We are hopeful to get it up and running by the end of next week, but the actual repair time will depend on the shipping time of each replacement part.

Overview

The continuance of the Old Main piping replacement project taking place this spring/summer. This project will continue repairs to some of the heating water, and cooling water pipes in the building, as well as the addition of isolation valves for some other plumbing fixtures. Much of the work will take place in mechanical rooms, pipe chases, and corridor ceilings of the building. We expect most impacts to the building occupants to be experienced in the corridors, but some departmentally assigned spaces could also be affected. In addition to construction areas in the corridors, some temporary shutdowns of water, heating, and cooling systems may be necessary. Utility outage notices will be sent out prior to any outage. Below is a list of impacts to expect during this project.

• Preparation for the piping replacement will begin on March 23rd. You will begin to see contractors in the hallways and accessing ceilings. The following Monday - March 30th, piping replacement will begin in earnest.
• Construction is planned between March 23rd and August 31st.
• Construction will occur mainly in the hallways of the building. This means you may encounter places where part of the hallway is blocked off. The contractor will maintain access around the work wherever possible.
• It is possible that doors may be blocked occasionally, if work is taking place overhead.
• Construction will move through the building to those locations where the piping needs to be replaced. Please expect a shifting work site as the project progresses. Some locations where work can be expected are in the basement and first floor hallways, as well as some piping chase locations that may need to be accessed near your work areas.
• Please expect construction noise and smells in the building. This work includes welding and the associated smells. We are doing whatever we can to minimize the disruptions to the building occupants, but due to the extensive nature of this project, some noise and smells will be unavoidable.
• Air temperature controls in the building will be limited throughout the duration of the project. It could be cooler than comfortable for some employees, and warmer than comfortable at times. We are working to limit these impacts as much as possible.

Beginning Monday, May 4, 2026, Facilities Planning & Design and associated contractors will begin abating and removing windows throughout the Lundberg building. Temporary window covering will be provided for weather protection while this project is ongoing. Replacement and interior remodeling of the windows will continue through mid-July 2026. All areas immediately adjacent to the windows on the interior of the building will be impacted and/or protected. Project managers will move existing fixtures and items away from the windows so that they are a safe distance prior to work beginning.

Beginning Monday, May 4, 2026 and running through August 2026, portions of the "purple" parking lot (adjacent to the Mehdi Heravi, Ray B West, Lundberg & Shed buildings) will be demolished and repaved as indicated on the attached map. In conjunction with this project, overall parking lot lighting and storm drainage will be improved. Sewer lines serving the Lundberg and Gunshed buildings will be replaced as well, along with a remodeled storm drain line serving the Family Life building. The Facilities project manager and associated contractor will work with individuals and suppliers to access the buildings affected. Some parking will still be available as indicated on the map but may be limited at times due to construction equipment operating in the area.

Overview

Beginning Monday, May 4, 2026, phase 2 of construction to 700 North (Aggie Boulevard) will begin. Contractors will begin to mobilize, fence off, and close 700 North beginning at the crosswalk between VSB and the HPER building to Bullen Road (see attached map). Walkways and specific crosswalks may not be available for pedestrian use during construction. Buildings that face 700 North will only have access and egress from the rear and side entry ways. Signs will be placed along fronting entrances and are to be used for emergency exit only. The project will progress from west to east, and sections will be opened as they are completed. Please look for a notification from Connect for temporary bus stop locations. Construction is expected to last from May 4th until mid-August 2026. Pedestrian crossing will only be available at the main mall crosswalk between the VSB and the HPER building and Bullen Road (see attached).

Starting June 1, renovations will begin on the second-floor restrooms in the Engineering Lab Building. This work will encompass rooms 226 and 296 with construction barriers impacting the hallways but not blocking through access. These restrooms will be closed for the duration of the project; the first-floor restrooms will remain operational. This project is planned for completion in August.

Due to trenching and utility work as part of the construction of the Administrative Services building, portions of the orange parking lot east of the IT Services building will be inaccessible (please refer to the map document). This parking lot closure will begin on Tuesday, May 26, 2026, at 8:00 AM and will reopen on Tuesday, June 9, 2026. Vehicles will not be able to park in the listed sections of the Orange parking lot during these dates. We do advise you to park in the orange lot just south of the Facilities building. There will be a pedestrian access gate and bridge over the trench for individuals wanting to access the IT Services building and lobby from the east side.

Starting the week of June 15th, construction crews will begin removing and replacing floors in a lab on the 3rd floor. Construction is expected to last 1-2 weeks.

Scheduled for Thursday, July 16th, 2026, culinary water to the VSB and LARC will be shut off beginning at 6:00 AM until 8:00 AM.

Scheduled for Thursday, July 16th, 2026, water to the Bullen Hall and Central Suites housing buildings will be shut off beginning at 10:00 AM until 3:00 PM. This outage is necessary for work on the water main.

On Thursday July 16th, 2026 until July 17th , 2026 contractors will be shutting off the power on Engineering Lab 2nd floor west wing from 6am until 4pm on Friday. This is necessary to make a repair.

On Wednesday July 22nd, 2026, facilities technicians will be shutting off the power to HPER power to room 211 and 213 from 6am until 10am. This is necessary to replace control bus. As a result lights, outlets, and HVAC won't work in these rooms during the listed time.
