Basic & Advanced Courses
Basic courses are available to any admitted USU student without any military commitment and provide valuable instruction in leadership.Whereas, advanced courses are only available to students who have contracted for military service.
Basic Course Requirements (9 Credits)
- MSL 1010 - Introduction to the Army (2 Credits)
- MSL 1020 - Foundations of Leadership (2 Credits)
- MSL 2010 - Leadership and Ethics (2 Credits)
- MSL 2020 - Army Doctrine and Decision-Making (2 Credits)
- MSL 2400 - Physical Readiness (1 Credit)
Advanced Course Requirements (15 Credits)
- MSL 3000 - Leadership in Military History (3 Credits)
OR
HIST 4810 - American Military History (3 Credits) - MSL 3010 - Training Management and the Warfighting Functions (3 Credits)
- MSL 3020 - Applied Leadership in Small Unit Operations (3 Credits)
- MSL 4010 - The Army Officer (3 Credits)
- MSL 4020 - Company Grade Leadership (3 Credits)

Basic & Advanced Camp
If Basic camp is attended, credit for all basic classes can be awarded; however, you must be a contracted cadet for commission into Advanced Camp.
