About This Program

TThe purpose of the Inclusive Leadership Certificate is to prepare students to lead in an increasingly diverse and global world. This certificate is appropriate for students planning careers in the public, private and non-profit sectors. Students will develop interdisciplinary grounding in inclusive leadership principles, theories and research. Students will also gain valuable communication, collaboration and community engagement skills and experience. Courses can be completed face-to-face and/or online.

Sample Courses for Inclusive Leadership

 

This course explores different models of inclusive leadership and community engagement and their application. Students explore conceptual frameworks related to inequality, intersectionality, power and identity, and have the opportunity to develop their own leadership identity, vision and style. 

Elective option. Explores cultural influences on basic psychological processes, including perception, cognition, language, emotion, intelligence, attitudes, values, and intergroup relations. 

Elective option. This course examines the intersections of power, communication, knowledge, and identity. The course will highlight the indispensable role that communication plays, not only in the production of powerful hegemonic structures, but also in resisting them. 

Elective option. This course examines the role of ethics in managerial decision making and the implications of managers’ actions for stakeholders. It explores factors that motivate ethical challenges and the role of individual values, moral reasoning, and integrity in making sound choices.
