Dear Aggie Parents and Families
Welcome to Utah State University, Home of the Aggies.
Your support of our students is an essential part of their success. We thank you for your impact and encouragement as your student embarks on their journey as an Aggie. This support will be an essential foundation for their success. We hope you find this handbook helpful in identifying resources to support your student’s transition to USU.
We are committed to providing an enriching and transformative educational experience. This past year has been one of remarkable growth and achievement at USU. We recently broke ground on the new Veterinary Medical Education Building, expanding opportunities and addressing a critical vet shortage in Utah. We also dedicated the Mehdi Heravi Global Teaching & Learning Center, reinforcing our commitment to global engagement and education.
Thanks to the generosity of our donors, we received $63 million to enhance the Aggie experience, while also disbursing $85.9 million in scholarships and aid to support our students. In addition, our enrollment has grown 3% across the USU system, reflecting our university’s established reputation and the trust families like yours place in us.
This year marks the 50th anniversary of the Undergraduate Research program at USU—one of the oldest and most respected in the country. With this reputation, USU has secured an impressive $495 million in sponsored research awards, driving innovation and discoveries that will benefit our students and society. These research opportunities can provide your student with opportunities to collaborate with faculty while learning critical skills, launch careers and internships, and receive recognition for their contributions.
We are honored to have you as part of our university community, and look forward to supporting your student as they learn, grow, and achieve their goals at Utah State.
Thank you for being part of the Aggie family!
Alan L. Smith
