Parent and Family Weekend Like a Pro

Parking & Transportation
  • Parking for the game can be purchased in advance for $15 online, or for $20 on game days at the F lot entrances. You can review the available parking for USU Football games
  • Parking for the rest of the weekend varies. Please review the parking map to see what would best fit your needs and the specific events you are attending.
  • Take the Aggie Shuttle to travel around campus for free. Track all of the shuttles and routes in real-time using the app, "Passio Go!"
  • Ride the Cache Valley Transit District buses to travel around Cache Valley for free! Find their routes and schedules. And don't forget to download their app. "Connect Bus"

USU v. San Jose State Football Game
  • USU Athletics has a strict bag policy. Please be prepared to follow the bag policy as you enter Maverik Stadium for the game:
    • Clear bags (maximum 12 inches by 12 inches by 6 inches) will be accepted at all entrances. Opaque medical and diaper bags of reasonable size will only be allowed through Gates B and E.
  • Need some USU Gear? View the campus store hours
  • You should have already received your football tickets via the email you bought the tickets with. You have not, they should arrive in your inbox 24-48 hours before kickoff.
  • With the recent changes to the distribution of football game tickets, your student will need to claim their own, free ticket for the game, instead of being able to walk in with their USU ID. When students can claim their ticket is TBD. You can learn more information about the new ticketing process.
    • Student tickets are distributed on a first come, first served basis. As this is the Homecoming game and will likely be highly attended, your student should claim their ticket as quickly after it opens as possible.

Making the Most of Parent and Family Weekend

In order to help you and your student have the best weekend possible, here are some things to consider:

  • Talk with your student and ask about their preferences for the weekend. Do they want to stay on campus or venture into Logan (and beyond).
  • Explore the community – ask your student to show you their favorite spots, both on and off campus.
  • Listen to your student and look out for signs that your student might need support.
    • Changes in habits, appearance, and mood could be indicators that your student needs some additional support. It may be helpful to have a non-judgmental conversation with your student or encourage them to reach out to USU CAPS
  • Respect your student’s space.
    • Maybe your student’s dorm room or apartment is not as tidy as you would like it to be. Respect your student’s autonomy to decide what to do with their space.
  • Be flexible with plans for the weekend.
    • Things happen. Be willing to change plans, especially if your student changes their mind about what they want to do.
  • Plan your next visit, whether you are coming to campus or your student is visiting home.
  • Connect with other parents and families at the variety of Parent and Family Weekend events.
  • Be present and in the moment and enjoy quality time with your student.
