Addressing Dependencies

Dependencies, formerly known in Curriculog as the ‘Impact Report’, are an essential step in requesting modifications to courses.

The final field in the Modification request forms is for the Author to address the dependencies. This information is not generated until after the proposal is submitted, so fill in the form with the information you already have, then submit.

After you have submitted your proposal, you will need to select ‘view proposal’.

Here, you can review the changes you have submitted. There are several tabs along the top of the proposal, and here you will want to select ‘Dependencies’.

This will list all courses and programs that have the current course (MGT 3700 in this example) listed as either a prerequisite or a program requirement. Please review these results and ensure you have a plan for them.

You can edit the proposal by clicking ‘edit proposal’ in the top right corner.

You can now edit the final field to address the impact and describe the steps that will be taken in order to mitigate the impact.

Save your changes.

The catalog editor will reject the proposal back to you if the impact has not been properly addressed.
