Modifying an Existing Catalog Page

(2026 - 27 Catalog Year)

Use these instructions to request edits to static catalog pages, such as:

  • College information pages
  • Faculty listing pages
  • Policy pages
  • General information pages

Important: Do not use this process for course information, program requirements, degree maps, or similar items. Those updates must be submitted through the Program Modification form in Coursedog Curriculum Management.

Steps

  1. Sign in to Coursedog.
  2. Select Catalog & Handbook.
  3. In the right-hand Actions sidebar, select Request Changes.
  4. From the Catalog dropdown, choose Utah State University 2026–2027 Catalog (the sandbox catalog for upcoming changes).
  5. From the Custom Page dropdown, select the page you want to update. View the Custom Page selection.
    • Only submit updates for pages your department owns or is responsible for.
  6. Click Continue.
  7. Enter a brief Reason for Request (e.g., “Updates for new catalog year”).
  8. Edit the page text as needed.
  9. To preview your edits, click View Changes in the right sidebar (edits appear in green).
  10. To reset your work, click Start Over.  
  11. When finished, click Submit Request in the right sidebar.

Following submission of the proposal, the Catalog team will review the request and the changes will appear when the new catalog is published.

How to Request Changes to a Department Page in Coursedog

  1. Log in to Coursedog
    • Open Coursedog and go to the Catalog module.
  2. Select the correct “Catalog Scope” at the top of the page (select the upcoming catalog year)
  3. Find your department page
    • Select Departments.
    • Search for and open your department’s page (you may need to use CTRL-F).
  4. Start a change request
    • Click Request Changes in the right sidebar.
  5. Add Reason for Request in the box near the top (this is a required field)
  6. Make your updates
    • Edit the text that needs to be updated.
    • Click “Start Over” in the right sidebar to clear the changes and start over.
  7. View Changes (click View Changes on right sidebar)
    • A pop-up will display with the changes highlighted in red and green.
  8. Submit the request
    • Click Submit Request to send the proposal into the approval workflow.
    • Approval workflow is Author -> Department Head -> Catalog Team -> Finalized
  9. Wait for approval
    • Your request will be reviewed and approved before it appears in the catalog.
